Candice Sanders, that’s me. I am the owner of Engaged Events. I am a Wedding Consultant. A Wedding Enthusiast. A True Romantic. A Wife.  A Mother. And now, a Blogger.

I’m here to talk about LOVE.  I’ve always been a big fan. I’ve always
tried to give all the love I could possibly give, and enjoy that love back in return. I always had faith that true love would find me when I was ready, when the timing was right, and it sure did. Sure I had my heart broken, and I broke a few hearts myself, but in the end it all seemed to make perfect sense…it just wasnt my time. Then,  when I was least expecting it, my husband came along, and it all just fell into place. The love that I found changed me, shook me to the core, and made me a better person. Our relationship forced us both to grow, and opened our eyes to what real love looks like. He is my partner and my best friend. We are truly blessed.

I’m not just talking about love with the opposite sex though. I’m talking about love in general. Love within your family, your friends, even your acquaintances. The love you show yourself, your body, your soul. In my opinion, giving and receiving love is truly the root of our overall happiness in this life. It is a verb, not just a feeling. You must actually do it, show it, in order to deserve to feel it.

Maybe this undying love infatuation is what brought me to love WEDDINGS so very much. No matter how many weddings I coordinate, I still find myself watching every ceremony with the greatest attention. I look at the Grooms face as the Bride first starts her journey down the aisle towards him. It is just magical watching true love in that moment. I have been very blessed to watch hundreds of couples say “I Do”, and it will never get old. Never.

Not only do I love the actual wedding, but I also am captivated by the planning, the journey to the big day, and most importantly, the journey that comes thereafter. Sure, we can talk for hours about what shade of green your linen should be on your sweetheart table, but is that really what truly matters? As a coordinator, of course I’ll say “Yes! It matters!” but I’ll also be the first one to tell you that your wedding is about your marriage, your relationship, your future together. It has to be a combination of excitement between the wedding celebration and the rest of your new life. You need to strive to be  “Eternally Engaged” with one another, forever in that wedding moment, long after your wedding day. Of course that beautiful centerpiece at your wedding is important, but more so are your wedding vows, the words that tie you to another for the rest of your life. So yes, I love the celebration part of a wedding, but I am more captivated by the relationship part. The real, raw moments that keep us coming back to our spouse for more day after day.

I constantly find myself reading a great article about marriage, meeting a couple that inspires me, or simply day dreaming about wedding decor and design. Those moments are what I plan to share with you here. Stories of love, marriage, engagements, and of course, I’ll highlight my beautiful couples on their big day. My associates will chime in as well, sharing their inspiration and their recent work.  We hope though to leave you with a more meaningful understanding of the big picture, the true commitment of marriage. The act of loving another, and loving yourself, while being a committed partner.

Though I can’t promise it will be perfect, I can promise it will come from my heart. I’m not a writer, but I know I’ll have fun with this! I am no expert on love, or marriage, I am learning and growing in my own marriage everyday. We’re on this journey together. How exciting.

All I hope is that I’ve made even a small impression on my past wedding clients, as they’ve made a huge impact on my life. I hope to make a small mark in this big wedding world, as my adoration for weddings, marriage, and true love is what brought me here to begin with. I hope to share in a lasting love with my husband until I am old and grey. I hope my family and friends one day know how grateful I am for all they’ve done for me to enrich my life. And of course, I hope you enjoy this little blog…a little peek into the Engaged Events wedding world 🙂
