real wedding: heather & mike 4/21/13

I simply cant believe it is the end of July! The wedding season is in full swing and it’s been an amazing season thus far! I promised myself I’d get caught up this week, I have some more beautiful weddings to share 🙂

Heather and Mike live in Seattle and were thrilled to be planning their big day at the amazing Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel. Such an amazing couple, we had a phone interview and hit it off right away. I was so excited to not only work with the couple, but also their family! Both Heather and Mike have daughters from their previous marriages, who were going to form our bridal party! The girls were ages 8, 9, 10 & 11….. so adorable! I knew this was going to be a beautiful, intimate affair and the perfect beginning to the formation of a new family!

The ceremony was performed by a close friend, so it was full of personal moments and funny stories from the past. Heather shared an amazing moment with her oldest daughter, Madilyn when she walked with her down the aisle towards her husband to be. Elegant by Design created two tall stunning arrangements for the altar, with rose petals and two matching arrangements at the beginning of the aisle. With the girls in Tiffany blue dresses, we used blush, white and pink in the florals, creating a fresh and romantic look that was stunning against the pacific ocean background on the Ritz’s sunset Terrace. Matt Shockley provided some great ceremony music, and he continued to play during cocktail hour, keeping the guests singing along to his upbeat hits.

The Plaza ballroom had a mixture of tall and low centerpieces, with the table names all being places that the couple had visited together. One city was where Mike had proposed, one was where they had shared their first date. Such a sweet personal touch. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal, followed by an amazing dessert station. The girls each took turns making a speech to their new mom and new dad, expressing their excitement for their new family and new sisters. The couple shined all night, and seemed to thrilled to be sharing the evening with their closest friends and family in such a beautiful setting. It just doesn’t get much better!

Heather and Mike, I cant wait to come and visit in Seattle! You both are amazing and I wish you a lifetime of happiness together!
