Another amazing October wedding coming your way!
I met Marissa and Chris in a very interesting way….. but I believe that it was fate that brought us together!
It was a random weeknight, and after a gym workout, I met my husband at Corner Bakery for a quick bite to eat. We ordered and I took a seat at an open booth… right next to a couple who looked like they were clearly in the meeting with some type of vendor. Turns out, I was right…. they were meeting with a coordinator and I was able to hear most of their conversation from my booth.
It sounded like they hadn’t booked with her yet, and from what I could hear, I hoped that they wouldn’t. There are so many amazing coordinators in Orange County, but unfortunately, there are also a lot of “coordinators” that lack the experience that some of us bring to a planning process for a couple. I looked at my husband and joked that “I should give them my card and introduce myself” and he said I should. But I was in my gym clothes, hair in a pony, NOT client ready! I didn’t have my purse anyway, so no business cards to share. I kept enjoying my salad….
The meeting ended, and I watched the couple head for the line to order some dinner for themselves. After my husband and I finished our meal, I looked at him and asked him for one of my cards. I remembered Brian always has some of my cards in his wallet! Regardless of what I was wearing, I thought I’d head up to them and introduce myself! It couldn’t hurt right?!
So I did…. I said hello to Marissa and Chris and gave them my card. I introduced myself and told them that Id love the opportunity to meet with them and chat about their big day (when I wasnt wearing gym clothes!). Even though they looked quite shocked to have a stranger approach them, they took my card and smiled. I told them to enjoy their dinner and I headed out.
Needless to say, we connected and we signed a contract to work together! As fate would have it, they were already booked at my old home, the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel! A random meeting turned out to be a match made in heaven! I got to work with an amazing couple, and they got a Marriott pro to run their event! 🙂
Marissa and Chris said “I Do” at the Sea View Terrace, with my favorite, Mr. Don Johnson performing the ceremony. Cocktails followed in the same location as the sun set in the background.
Our ballroom was decorated with Orange, Navy and White. A beautiful white dance floor, white lounge furniture, and amazing lighting set the stage for an amazing evening! Bella Blooms provided beautiful manzanita tree centerpieces and our place card table of orange cocktails with navy striped straws was a showstopper!
The crowd was entertained by a fun bridal party dance to get the party started, followed by an amazing first dance by the bride and groom. The dance floor was then packed all night long…. well until the late night snack was served at 11pm….. sliders and fries for the hungry dancing crowd!
Marissa and Chris, it was a pleasure! You both are amazing and so was the wedding! I am so thankful that we met on that random night, and that you took the time to go home, look me up, and contact me. We made a great team! I am so, so happy for you both!
