real wedding: sanam & abel 9/1/2013

17 Jul

Sometimes things just all come together perfectly. I meet a bride and right then I know we are going to make magic together. From my first meeting with Sanam I knew her and I were not only meant to work together, but meant to be friends long after her wedding as well!

Working with the couple for over 18 months, we put together a stunning wedding at the Westin South Coast Plaza. Shades of Purple (my fav!) and silver filled the space with an elegant, regal feeling. Our large, fun bridal party kept a smile on my face all day long! This wedding was by far one of my favorites that I have EVER coordinated!

We started with a traditional Persian sofreh ceremony inside one of the Westins ballrooms. The sofreh was done by Elegant Sofreh Designs and as always, it took my breath away. Bling touches, silver, purple, so perfect for Sanam! The ceremony was completed with personal vows that the couple read to one another….. so sweet! Sanam looked perfect in her STUNNING wedding dress! She was the most beautiful bride!

We then moved into the ballroom where the party really got started. A candy station, personal table names, and a photo booth were all fun touches to the reception. Bella Blooms provided the centerpieces that everyone LOVED. Orchids, Hydrangea, Roses, oh my! :) And the cake? Well let me tell you…… Simply Sweet Cakery out did themselves! Clear Cake stands were in between each layer, filled with orchids and purple led lights. Showstopper!

During dinner we showed an amazing same day edit of the day put together by Daniel at Imagique Brought tears to my eyes! A same day edit is such a cool way to showcase your day to your guests as they continue to enjoy the party! We then kicked off the dance party, and our DJ Mike Soltani kept the dance floor packed all night long!

Sanam and Abel are now expecting their first baby in December and I couldn’t be more excited for them! And it’s a girl! A new friend for my daughter Brooke! haha! I love seeing my couples enter the next phase of their lives….I get to think that I was there when it all got started! :)

Sanam and Abel, thank you for being so fun to work with and for allowing me to be a small part of your celebration. You both are amazing and come from such great families. I had such a great time getting to know everyone along the way. We put together the perfect wedding for you both, one that reflected you as a couple and one that provided your guests with a night they sure will not forget! Congrats to you both and good luck with the baby!

Take a look at some of my favorite photos from the day, captured by 8twenty8 Studios. And I also have to share the link from their same day edit video http://vimeo.com/73960302.

Enjoy!

real wedding: emily & chris 8/25/13

It’s been a few months my friends….. a few busy months! Wedding season is in full swing, and I am adjusting to life as a new working mommy (I had a baby in February for those of you who didn’t know! ) I am Still playing catch up with my 2013 weddings….. so excited to share Emily & Chris’s special day!

The greatest compliment that I can receive is a referral. I am so blessed that most of my business is based off of referrals. It always brings the biggest smile to my face when I hear “we have to work with you…. you planned my friend’s wedding and she loved you. She said I can’t work with anyone but you”.

I planned Emily’s cousin’s wedding in 2012, and fell in love then with her entire family. I was thrilled months later when she reached out to me to help with her wedding, another opportunity to spend time with their great family & friends!

Emily & Chris chose Dove Canyon as their wedding venue, such a beautiful setting. It was a warm one…. one of the hottest weddings of the season for me! White & Purple colors filled the space, just the right amount of summer time elegance!

Flower Allie provided the stunning flowers and one of my favorites, Frank Salas was our photographer. We had a piano player during cocktail hour (such an elegant touch!), and an amazing candy station for the guests to enjoy late night.

Emily & Chris, it was such a pleasure working with you both! I had such a great time at your event, and loved getting to spend another evening celebrating with your family! I’m sure we’ll keep in touch, hopefully I’ll see you at another wedding soon :)

real wedding: karenn & bobby 8/11/2013

31 Jan

On my quest to catch up on sharing my beautiful 2013 weddings here on the blog, I am excited to post Karenn & Bobby’s sweet wedding celebration at Hotel Maya. It was a stunning August day on the water in Long Beach with the Queen Mary in the background! After almost 16 months of planning together, it was such a thrill to see this all come together for this fun couple!

Karenn & Bobby chose shades of yellow, ivory and silver for their wedding colors. Fresh and clean, the yellow really popped in our ceremony and reception space. Bella Blooms provided some stunning decor to frame our ceremony structure, and bright yellow petals down the aisle was just the right finishing touch.

In the ballroom we used manzanita trees adorned with crystals and hanging candles to warm up the tables. Yellow orchids brought in some color to the trees that sat on a bed of hydrangea flowers. So pretty! Jason from Visions Entertainment kept the dance floor packed, and guests enjoyed the beautiful city lights of the Long Beach Harbor from the Miramar Ballroom on a warm August night.

Karenn & Bobby, it was truly a pleasure being your planning partner! I hope you had as much fun on the journey as I did! Congratulations on a beautiful wedding!

real wedding: christina & jerome 8/9/2013

19 Jan

Christina and Jerome had already started a beautiful family of their own, all that was missing was a beautiful wedding celebration of their love! In front of their 2 adorable children, a great family, and a fun group of friends, Christina and Jerome were so excited to tie the knot and truly make it “official”.

A perfect August Friday was the big day. Clear weather on the coast allowed the amazing California coastline at the Ritz-Carlton to set the perfect background for the ceremony. The couple chose dark purple, black and white for our colors which looked so regal and elegant! The Sunset Terrace looked just perfect with two beautiful arrangements from Bella Blooms and just a few flower touches down the aisle.

After our Ritz-Carlton ceremony, the bridal party jumped into a shuttle and was taken to Salt Creek Grill. The Patio at Salt Creek was the perfect outdoor venue for our reception. We draped the back of the patio with black satin pipe and drape, and used the purple and white to accent the space. Simple submerged flower and floating candle arrangements looked beautiful on the tables, and the café lights overhead created just the right amount of glow as the sun went down.

Guests enjoyed a great meal, an open bar, and lots of dancing as the couple celebrated together! Everyone had such a great time, especially the couple’s 2 children who were spotted on the dance floor for most of the evening! :)

Christina and Jerome, I had so much fun working with you both and planning with you in the months that led up to the wedding. Congrats on a beautiful wedding, and a beautiful family! It was an honor!

my favorite things: mirror details

19 Jan

Looking for a little “wow” factor in your decor? Oh, what a little shine can bring! One of my favorite things to see at an event is mirror details. Clean and modern, yet feminine, this touch can really add something special to your set up.

For a few weddings this year, rather than escort cards, we had a mirrored seating chart. Very “grand”, this piece defiantly makes an elegant statement. A large leaning mirror or a group of smaller mirrors set on a tabletop can really be a unique piece of your decor.

Some other popular mirrored pieces are cake stands, centerpiece vases, table numbers, cocktail tables, and flower pedestals for the ceremony site. I also love to see mirrored tabletops, though they can be a bit pricey. The reflection of the centerpiece and the candles on the table will warm up your space like nothing else! Simply stunning!

Here are a few pictures of some ways to incorporate mirrored pieces into your decor. Hopefully you find some inspiration of your own! Enjoy!
