sneak peek: amanda & pete

2 Apr

Ready or not, the wedding season is here! :) I am excited to not only finish showcasing some of my beautiful ’13 weddings, but begin to highlight my new ’14 couples as well! I am a bit behind on my blog adventure, but I’ll be catching up soon…. starting with a sneak peek of Amanda and Pete!

Getting married on September 6th, Amanda and Pete will tie the knot on the beach in Dana Point, with their reception taking place after at The Ritz-Carlton. I’ve been working with Amanda for over a year, so I am thrilled that this wedding is taking such beautiful shape! Her and Pete are a wonderful, sweet couple, and I know the wedding is going to be stunning!

Take a look at their adorable engagement photos, shot by Mike Steele http://www.mikesteelephoto.com. These are just a FEW of  my favorites, all of them are great! I cant wait to see the wedding photos!

Enjoy!

real wedding: karenn & bobby 8/11/2013

31 Jan

On my quest to catch up on sharing my beautiful 2013 weddings here on the blog, I am excited to post Karenn & Bobby’s sweet wedding celebration at Hotel Maya. It was a stunning August day on the water in Long Beach with the Queen Mary in the background! After almost 16 months of planning together, it was such a thrill to see this all come together for this fun couple!

Karenn & Bobby chose shades of yellow, ivory and silver for their wedding colors. Fresh and clean, the yellow really popped in our ceremony and reception space. Bella Blooms provided some stunning decor to frame our ceremony structure, and bright yellow petals down the aisle was just the right finishing touch.

In the ballroom we used manzanita trees adorned with crystals and hanging candles to warm up the tables. Yellow orchids brought in some color to the trees that sat on a bed of hydrangea flowers. So pretty! Jason from Visions Entertainment kept the dance floor packed, and guests enjoyed the beautiful city lights of the Long Beach Harbor from the Miramar Ballroom on a warm August night.

Karenn & Bobby, it was truly a pleasure being your planning partner! I hope you had as much fun on the journey as I did! Congratulations on a beautiful wedding!

real wedding: christina & jerome 8/9/2013

Christina and Jerome had already started a beautiful family of their own, all that was missing was a beautiful wedding celebration of their love! In front of their 2 adorable children, a great family, and a fun group of friends, Christina and Jerome were so excited to tie the knot and truly make it “official”.

A perfect August Friday was the big day. Clear weather on the coast allowed the amazing California coastline at the Ritz-Carlton to set the perfect background for the ceremony. The couple chose dark purple, black and white for our colors which looked so regal and elegant! The Sunset Terrace looked just perfect with two beautiful arrangements from Bella Blooms and just a few flower touches down the aisle.

After our Ritz-Carlton ceremony, the bridal party jumped into a shuttle and was taken to Salt Creek Grill. The Patio at Salt Creek was the perfect outdoor venue for our reception. We draped the back of the patio with black satin pipe and drape, and used the purple and white to accent the space. Simple submerged flower and floating candle arrangements looked beautiful on the tables, and the café lights overhead created just the right amount of glow as the sun went down.

Guests enjoyed a great meal, an open bar, and lots of dancing as the couple celebrated together! Everyone had such a great time, especially the couple’s 2 children who were spotted on the dance floor for most of the evening! :)

Christina and Jerome, I had so much fun working with you both and planning with you in the months that led up to the wedding. Congrats on a beautiful wedding, and a beautiful family! It was an honor!

my favorite things: mirror details

19 Jan

Looking for a little “wow” factor in your decor? Oh, what a little shine can bring! One of my favorite things to see at an event is mirror details. Clean and modern, yet feminine, this touch can really add something special to your set up.

For a few weddings this year, rather than escort cards, we had a mirrored seating chart. Very “grand”, this piece defiantly makes an elegant statement. A large leaning mirror or a group of smaller mirrors set on a tabletop can really be a unique piece of your decor.

Some other popular mirrored pieces are cake stands, centerpiece vases, table numbers, cocktail tables, and flower pedestals for the ceremony site. I also love to see mirrored tabletops, though they can be a bit pricey. The reflection of the centerpiece and the candles on the table will warm up your space like nothing else! Simply stunning!

Here are a few pictures of some ways to incorporate mirrored pieces into your decor. Hopefully you find some inspiration of your own! Enjoy!

real wedding: diane & bart 8/4/2013

11 Jan

I love working at new venues that I have never worked at before. There is something so exciting about seeing a new space come together for an event that I have helped plan. When Diane contacted me regarding her wedding in Palos Verdes, I was thrilled to come on board. Our event was set to take place at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center, right on the water with an amazing view! I had never been to the venue before, and it did not disappoint! It was the perfect setting for Diane and Bart to say “I Do”.

We started the day at Hotel Maya in Long Beach, where Diane got ready with her bridal party. She then traveled in style in a limo to the venue where she shared her first look and pre-ceremony photo session with Bart.

The couple chose an ocean theme for their big day. Shades of blue decorated the venue, with sea stars, sea turtles and sea shells. A little went a long way in this beautiful space with the ocean and the lighthouse serving as our main backdrop.

Kitchen 12000 provided an amazing dinner buffet for our guests to enjoy, and Invisible Touch DJs kept our dance floor packed all night! Café lights on the patio created a warm glow during dancing, and when guests took a break, they got right in line for the photo booth. So much fun!

Diane and Bart, I had a wonderful time working with you! Keep in touch my friends :)

7 Jan

I can’t believe it is January 7th…. the first week of 2014 is behind us! I feel like December just flew by, and now here we are, at the beginning of yet another year! In the middle of trying to catch up on my blogging, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on this past year, and thank those of you who made it so successful for EBC! Take a look at this year’s Holiday Card, the girls and I were excited to spread some holiday cheer to all our favorite venues and vendors! We took this photo at our annual holiday dinner together, where we reflected on the past season, and got excited for the season ahead of us in ’14!

EBCHoliday2013

What an amazing year 2013 was for me professionally. I feel so blessed. 2013 exceeded any of my expectations, and was by far the best year I’ve had in the industry. The business grew and expanded in more ways than one, and it was so exciting to watch it all come together. We had some of our amazing work featured on blogs, in magazines and in the OC Register, and I lit up every time I saw “Events By Candice” in print! We were voted “#1 Wedding Coordinator by the OC Hotlist after so many of you flattered us with your votes. We were added to 3 more preferred vendor lists’, bringing our total to 8 beautiful venues that are now proud to refer EBC to their couples. So many moments made me so proud this year….proud to be a small business owner, proud to have such a strong team behind me, and proud to have such strong relationships with vendors/venues who continuously support me.

From the bottom of my heart, I say thank you for it all.

To my 2013 clients….. thank you for trusting me with your big day! Thank you for your friendship, and for your referrals. Thank you for having fun with me along our journey together, and for allowing me to share in such an amazing moment in your life. Each of you is special to me. Each of you means something to me. Each wedding touches my life in some way and brings something special to my business and my life. I just can’t say thank you enough for being so wonderful to work with.

To my vendors….. another season down, and we did it together! Thank you for working so hard by my side, and for making me look good in front of my guests!  I know I couldn’t do what I do without the teams I have in place for every event. We do this together every weekend, and I have such a great time doing so! I treasure our working relationships as well as our friendships. You all mean so much to me and make this job so much more enjoyable.

To my team: Jenna, Julie, Kelly, Cierra, Britne & Becky…..thank you for working so hard by my side every weekend. Thank you for always having a smile on your face, no matter how tired you are at the end of an event. Thank you for having so much fun with me, yet still taking our work so seriously. Thank you for treating my clients like your own, and for always representing my business in a positive way. You all make me so proud to be your leader and also your friend.

To my family & friends….. thank you for your support around every turn. Thank you for understanding when I miss an event/birthday/holiday because I am working on the weekends lol. Thank you for spreading the word about this little business of mine, for voting for me, and for convincing your friends and co-workers that they “must have a wedding coordinator” :) I am so lucky to have such a great support system.

And to Brian….. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you for another year of support every step of the way. Thank you for packing me lunches, updating my website, fixing my computer and proof-reading my blog. You do so much for me behind the scenes, things that I appreciate so much more than you know. I value your advice, and love that you are always waiting for me to get home after a long wedding day, ready to listen to the re-cap of the day with a smile :) Next year will bring so many new challenges our way with the little one on the way and I thank you in advance for all we’ll adjust together to make this work for our little family. I know I can do it all, but only with a man like you by my side.

And here we go, jumping into another year! 2014 will be exciting, in more ways than one, and I am so thrilled! I am about to be a first time mother (Baby Girl Sanders is due in Feb!), and about to begin another year as the owner of this wonderful small business. I will take all of the moments and memories from 2013 with me into the new year, and will do my best to again exceed my own expectations for success. The sky is the limit. I am ready. Lets do this!

Here are a few pictures of me with just a handful of my 2013 clients! Oh what fun I had! Oh what fantastic events we put together! What a beautiful chapter 2013 turned out to be!
